                     Introducing our Rector The Revd Trevor Thurston-Smith SMMS

A Yorkshireman by birth, Fr Trevor trained for ordination at Chichester Theological College and has been ordained for 35 years.  After curacies in the Sheffield and Lichfield dioceses, Trevor spent some time outside stipendiary ministry working in management and developmental roles in a number of charities. He came to the Leicester diocese in 2005 as Bishop's Chaplain for people affected by HIV, before returning to parish ministry as Priest in Charge of Broughton Astley with Croft and Stoney Stanton in 2011. In 2014 he became Rector of the newly created Benefice of Wigston which brings together the parishes of All Saints and St Wistan's, Wigston Magna and St Thomas the Apostle, South Wigston. Fr Trevor describes his  spirituality as 'Catholic with a Charismatic edge'. He's a Priest Associate of the Holy House of  Our Lady of Walsingham, a member of the Sodality of Mary, Mother of Priests and is currently Chair of the Midlands Region of  'On Fire Mission'. He shares his life with his Civil Partner, Jeremy and a delightful Great Dane /Mastiff cross called Bella. His interests include Music (of most kinds) Theatre, Cinema, dog-Walking, and eating out (Thai, Indian, Turkish, Mexican; well, you name it really).
