Rector's Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Wigston Benefice.

I'm delighted that you've dropped by for a 'virtual visit' and I hope that I or one of my colleagues may get the opportunity to welcome you in person to one of our churches sometime soon.

Here you will be able to read something about the life of our three  churches : All Saints and St Wistan's in the parish of Wigston Magna, and St Thomas the Apostle in the parish of South Wigston.

Each church has its own special ethos, but all three stand  within a modern, 'inclusive catholic' tradition.

Most of our worship centres on the Eucharist or Mass and we normally use the Church of England's most recent prayer book 'Common Worship'. We do, however, have some less formal 'All-Age Services' and some of our worship has a Charismatic edge. When Evensong is occasionally sung on Sunday evenings at St Thomas' it is according to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

Our congregations are faithful, open and welcoming, and we would be delighted to see you at any of our services or events.

If you can't find the information you require here, do please get in touch using the contact details on the site, and we'll do our best to help you. Better still, why not just 'come and see'?

Thanks again for visiting our website - and may God bless you.

With prayerful good wishes,

Trevor Thurston-Smith SMMS (Rector)
